Q. How do I update Cart-Scan?
1)  With Cart-Scan up and running, click the CONFIGURE button.
2)  Select the SUPPORT tab.
3)  Fill in your access information if not present.
(Click HERE if you forgot them)
4)  Click the GET UPDATE button.
(Don't see the button? Follow THESE instructions.)
5)  Read and follow the prompts.

Q. Cart-Scan says it will expire or is now in trial mode but I am not due for renewal, why?
Cart-Scan updates are available monthly and you should take advantage of that. You can update every two months but if you go three months without updating, Cart-Scan will force you to do so. If you do not, it will revert to trial mode and show you a message that you need to do an update to fix. Simply update Cart-Scan (Click HERE if you need directions) and it will fix the issue if your license is up-to-date.

Q. I can't get in to Cart-Scan to unlock the trial! It says thank you for trying and takes me to www.cartscan.com.
If you ran the trial today, then when you restart Cart-Scan it will tell you it has already be run once and asks you if you want more information on purchasing. At this point you need to answer NO so you can get in to click the configure button, enter your access codes and register. If you answer yes, it will take you to this site for information on how to purchase.

Q. How do I re-install Cart-Scan?
1)  DOWNLOAD and install the CURRENT RELEASE
(When the dialog pops up, select OPEN or RUN.)
2)  It will come up in trial mode once installed.
3)  Follow the directions to update Cart-Scan found HERE.

Q. I forgot my access codes. How can I get them?
1)  Click HERE to have your access codes emailed to the address you registered with.
2)  You can change your Username, Password, and email address by clicking HERE.

Q. How can I get a manual?
A. When Cart-Scan is installed, so is the manual. Under windows 3.X, NT 3.X you can find it in the program manager under the CPR group. In windows 95,98,NT 4.0,WIN2000,XP, click the START button, PROGRAMS, and then CPR.  You will need a web browser to view the manual. You can also view the manual on-line HERE.

Q. How do I install Cart-Scan on a network?
A. Installing Cart-Scan on a network is simple! Perform each of the following steps and DO NOT omit any. These instructions are all that you need. If you find them difficult to follow, you may need a computer network consultant to assist you.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The following may need to be performed by your IT department or computer consultant. Support on how to install Cart-Scan on a network IS NOT included in your purchase of Cart-Scan. Assistance is available from CPR at our current hourly support rate billed in 15 minute increments with a minimum charge of 15 minutes.

1)  Go to the server (or workstation acting as the server) and download the Cart-Scan Install.
2) 

Run the Cart-Scan Install and when it asks where to install Cart-Scan, specify X:\CARTSCAN where X: is your SHARED network drive.

3)  Run Cart-Scan and Follow the prompts. Once it is up and running, click CONFIGURE, then the SUPPORT TAB. Enter your access information (Click HERE if you forgot them) and select GET UPDATE. Follow the prompts again. Once finished, your license should now be setup on your server.
4)  NOTE: Workstations/Users MUST have Read/Write access to the Cartscan folder on the server (As well as Delete if they will perform updates).
Repeat the steps below under How do I add a workstation on a network for each workstation:
5)  If Cart-Scan loads as a trial version, select CONFIGURE, then the Support Tab. Enter your access information and click GET UPDATE. Click YES to restart and perform the update.

Q. How do I add a workstation on a network?
1)  Double click the MY COMPUTER Icon.
2)  Double click your server drive letter. (If no drive letter present, you will need to map one.)
3)  Double click the Cartscan folder.
4)  RIGHT CLICK the Cart-Scan program (The icon with the transparent printer) and select Copy.
5)  On a blank spot on your desktop, RIGHT CLICK and select Paste Shortcut. (NOT Paste!!!)
